South Asian English Institute provides quality English instruction at affordable rates to people of all ages to speak English better and faster and be prepared to pass the IELTS exam (International English Language Testing System). These skills will open the door for better educational and employment opportunities, thereby reducing inequalities in the society at large. Their goals include creating video courses and providing visa consultancy services as well.
Sea Cucumber Farm
This project seeks to bring life to coastal communities through innovation, sustainability, partnerships and joy in mariculture. It seeks to assist communities of traditional fishermen to successfully farm seafood products. Based in an island province with hundreds of small island communities, the business brings economic development through providing new revenue sources as well as working to see communities become healthier, happier, and more productive.
Bugkalot Coffee
Deep within the rural communities of the Philippines, live some of the poorest of the country. The communities covered under this project are rural tribal communities (called Barangays) situated in remote mountain areas within the municipality of Dupax del Sur, in the province of Nueva Vizcaya. Within Dupax del Sur, Abaca & Talbek (the Bugkalot barangays) are some of the poorest barangays, given their remote location, low education level, lack of infrastructure, and low economic activity.
FatherLand Ethno-Tourism
FatherLand is an ethno-tourism showcase project to help develop attractive and sustainable tourism experiences through “Yurt Conversion'' trailer kits that offer at least four ecologically-safe toilet options. They will be available to the community at zero investment through “lease to own” or grants to local families in appropriate locations. Additionally, they will demonstrate inclusive practices with 100% of non-reinvested earnings going to the local service providers and to show that ecotourism can be an attraction instead of a financial burden.
Sulamina Chocolate
Being faithful to their motto "life, opportunity, chocolate" means fair staff wages and benefits, developing new staff skills, empowering staff leadership, fair trade with farmers, promoting plant diversity and agricultural best practices, utilizing solar energy and eco-friendly packaging.
Integrated Farm (INTEGRA)
INTEGRA converts animal manure into organic biofertilizer using biodigesters, offering a sustainable solution to restore soil fertility and boost agricultural productivity. Their regenerative farming practices reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers while enhancing soil health. In partnership with agricultural businesses, NGOs, and government entities, INTEGRA’s Sustainable Farming R&D initiative is helping Kyrgyz farmers revitalize agriculture and rural communities—one biodigester at a time.
Disability Equality
Global Feather is more than rehabilitation; it’s building community equality for those with disabilities. Job-site consultation provides employed adults with disabilities improved skills and communication with their employers, promoting inclusive decent work for all. Local rehab workers are given special training to provide better care, scale, and sustainability. Group classes also foster a strategy to manage this need within the local community affected.
Co-Working Space
While certain parts of India had already experienced the rise of freelancing and co-working spaces, other regions found it difficult to embrace freelancing, especially among women. In the eyes of those around them, freelancers are often seen as lazy and foolish, bringing shame to the family. Their choice of profession is therefore risky and because of the lack of support and exposure to opportunities, many creatives become discouraged and give up, losing much of their passion and potential to the demands of family and society.
HIV Care
HIV Care project provided holistic care and support to men, women, and children impacted by HIV/AIDS in India as well as medical care assistance such as lab tests and vaccines to those in need. Medical camps at orphan homes also provided access to basic medical check-ups and needed immunizations.
Wild Sumatra Eco-Tourism
Wild Sumatra Tours works with rural communities to empower local guides, helping connect them with off-the-beaten-path adventurers looking for authentic trekking and cultural experiences in the Bengkulu region. Due to the impact of COVID on tourism, they’ve expanded their efforts to include sustainable coffee production and agricultural research and development. Working and offering training with their local communities empowers the local cultures to take pride in themselves, their culture, and their environment.
