The First Leaf Guesthouse is an integrated social enterprise in the Himalayan Region designed to improve livelihoods and expand access to education through a sustainable tourism model. By operating a guesthouse and café, the project creates quality employment opportunities with fair wages, benefits, and professional training, addressing widespread underemployment and labor migration in South Asia. At the same time, its community children’s library and low-cost educational programs provide accessible, play-based learning for families who cannot afford private preschool options.
DVOR plans to open a community education center in Sarajevo and several other cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina that will offer tutoring services, educational programs, and day camps, while serving as neutral and inclusive spaces where people of all ages and backgrounds can connect, learn, and access essential services. These centers aim to address the growing skills gap faced by students as they transition into the workforce by strengthening English proficiency, digital literacy, critical thinking and problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
Spice Islands Gelato & Cafe envisions creating a unique dessert and cafe experience in Indonesia, that celebrates local ingredients—especially spices—while generating lasting community impact. Azerbaijani Socks aims to preserve Azerbaijan's traditional crafts by creating high-quality, handmade knitted socks and providing fair, flexible employment to women in rural areas. The products, made from premium materials, feature modernized versions of traditional designs. Azerbaijani Yarn will focus on hand-spun, 100% natural wool yarn, sourced locally to create economic opportunities for rural communities.
Seed of Hope Coffee Company, based in Northern Thailand, collaborates closely with local farmers and the Seed of Hope Dormitory, which provides a safe living environment and education for children from remote villages, many of whom are at risk of exploitation. With approximately 90% of these children's families being coffee farmers, the company emerged to help them access better markets and fair prices for their products, replacing the previous opium economy.
Garden Education Center envisions a thriving Chunja, dedicated to nurturing the potential of the community to ensure individuals and families can flourish. The project aims to enhance educational opportunities in rural areas through a scholarship program, supported by local and external sponsors, making quality education accessible to those in need. Within four years, the center plans to achieve financial sustainability, establish a café promoting healthy eating in collaboration with Green Fields Farm & Nursery, and develop a career and entrepreneurial component.

Waste Transformers is focused on creating efficient, sustainable, and reliable waste management solutions to protect Indonesia’s diverse ecosystem and communities. They collect different plastics, primarily with the 2 and 5 symbol, to upcycle into different products. Organic waste is processed through worm composting, turning food scraps and other biodegradable materials into nutrient-rich compost. Any remaining byproducts are further composted. They also aim to engage and partner with villages to manage their own waste by teaching them how to run their own materials recovery facility.

FatherLand is an ethno-tourism showcase project to help develop attractive and sustainable tourism experiences through “Yurt Conversion'' trailer kits that offer at least four ecologically-safe toilet options. They will be available to the community at zero investment through “lease to own” or grants to local families in appropriate locations. Additionally, they will demonstrate inclusive practices with 100% of non-reinvested earnings going to the local service providers and to show that ecotourism can be an attraction instead of a financial burden.

The Prakasam Coaching Center is an after-school program focused on boosting the literacy and reducing the dropout rate of underprivileged rural children living near the Western Ghats mountains of India by providing transportation, homework help, computer and English language training, school uniforms, textbook and school supplies, as well as a daily meal. Every student and family is expected to “pay it forward” by requiring students to coach their siblings or peers.
One of our longest-standing projects operates a system of village libraries or “reading posts” in central Sumatra (Indonesia). These provide not only easy access to books, but also act as mini-community centers where our partners and volunteers encourage children and adults to read, tutor, help with homework, and facilitate community transformation. Transformation is enabled by hosting presentations and discussions with local residents on how to tackle community challenges in the areas of healthcare, education, housing, and unemployment.
